⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Light, funny and romantic

Changing Gears

Loved this adorably sexy (but not smutty), light and funny book! It’s a quick and easy read with great writing that pairs a troublemaker at a crossroads in his life with an introverted good girl who is ready to live the way she wants for a change.

The story follows Jake, a professional motocross rider whose latest injury has put his career in jeopardy. A broken leg means he’s stuck living with his sister and unable to live life on the road like normal. When he’s offered a job working at a local bike shop, Jake is just excited to get out of the house – and possibly spend a little time with the cute owner. Lauren is a numbers girl, an introvert who finds Jake to be equal parts sexy and terrifying. She doesn’t know how to handle a guy who exudes so much charm and confidence, but as they get to know each other better, Jake’s walls start to come to down and they don’t seem so dissimilar after all.

I’ve got to thank Hidden Gems for providing me with an ARC of this light and refreshing romantic comedy. I never would’ve discovered this author on my own (I totally would’ve judged this book on its terrible cover), and now I’m hooked on the series. This is a complete standalone but the next book is definitely set up here and I’m excited to see what happens. The characters were great (loved Jake), the chemistry was obvious, and though there was nothing groundbreaking with the premise, it was fresh and interesting. It’s a slow burn with no explicit scenes but plenty of teasing. Definitely worth a read! I am voluntarily leaving a review of this adorable romantic comedy.
