⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Light and easy romance

How To Have Your Boss' Baby

Sweet and a little sexy, this quick, light romance will put a smile on your face. I’m not sure how I was expecting this one to go, but the storyline surprised me – the first half of the book is really great, with obvious chemistry between the characters and a light feel. The second half gets a little angsty but still flies by, and I really enjoyed our hero (even if his plan is flawed from the start).

The story follows Joey, an artist who has a corporate job to help pay down her student loans. She’s overworked, but her boss makes it difficult to be too annoyed by it – Reid’s a shameless flirt who seems to have a soft spot for her. When they take a business trip together, flirting turns into attraction and the sparks fly between them big time. But lack of communication gets in the way, and suddenly Reid has an unusual proposition for Joey.

Layla Valentine’s books are always light, easy reads that move quickly and this is no exception. This is definitely one her better books – the chemistry between Joey and Reid was great to read, and Reid himself is pretty adorable. I was honestly a little thrown off by Reid’s desire to have a baby alone. If he doesn’t have time for a wife and he hates how his parents were work-obsessed growing up… why would he want to raise a child in the same sort of environment? The contract aside, I really liked the quick, sweet feel to this romance. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
