⭐️⭐️⭐️ Funny but shallow

Mr. December (Calendar Boys, #12)

A lot of fun but mostly sexual, this quick and light romance features a male stripper working his way through law school. Lukah is a fun-loving guy, lapping up all the attention that comes from being a stripper while also distancing himself from his wealthy father. When he meets his new stepsister, Margot, it’s lust at first sight. Their meet cute doesn’t paint him in the best light, and it takes a while to convince Margot that there’s more to him than meets the eye – especially since things get physical between them very quickly.

While I do enjoy Goodin’s writing style, this wasn’t the most successful Calendar Boy for me. It’s a short book which isn’t a problem if there’s an emotional connection early on, but these two go right for the physical and stay in that place for the bulk of the story. Additionally, Lukah comes off as sort of a tool for most of the book, so I struggled to believe that they’d have any sort of deep feelings for each other by the end, but I did like the chemistry between them. If you’re looking for a quick, light and sexy read that doesn’t feature any explicit sex, then this series is well worth a try but maybe don’t start with this one.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
