Prepare to laugh your butt off and fall for an adorably sexy Marine with this sweet and hilarious holiday rom com. I’m not sure that Pippa Grant can write anything that I won’t love, and adding Lili Valente into the mix hasn’t changed that one bit. This is laugh out loud funny, heartwarming and sexy all at once. It’s extremely rare that I enjoy a story that features friends with benefits, but it really worked in this scenario. These two were falling for each other all along, but they knew the obstacles in their path might be too much to overcome. What that means is that the chemistry is off the charts, the banter is fun to read, and the emotion just builds along the way.
The story follows Clint, a Marine spending some time in his hometown while between orders. He’s got a larger than life personality, an eternally optimistic attitude, a family that loves him, and abs that just won’t quit. Clint’s known Noelle for a while now, but her new outlook is like catnip to him. She’s had more than a few bad Christmases and is determined that this will be a good one… regardless of the trouble that seems to follow her around. Spending time together just makes the attraction build, but Clint’s job means that a fairytale ending likely isn’t in the works for these two.
While this is part of a series, it’s not necessary to read the other books first. Clint’s family does play a big part in the story, but it’s easy to follow along with the dynamics. Even if I wasn’t a huge Pippa Grant fan, I would’ve picked this book up because of that COVER which depicts Clint so well – kinda cocky, kinda humble, and undeniably sexy. He really stole the show here, and it was easy to connect with him in a big way. I loved that he was all in, and just such a caring, all-around great guy. If I have any complaints about the book at all, it would maybe be that there’s SO much focus on comedy and family that I wanted more Clint and Noelle. There’s still plenty there, and the added humor and heart just adds a nice dynamic, but I would’ve loved more focus. If you’re looking for a light, feel good read that will make you laugh repeatedly, don’t hesitate to give this book a try. I received an ARC via Give Me Books and am voluntarily leaving a review of this hysterical and heartwarming book.

should be letting jingle my bells this holiday season. So why does Clint O’Dell keep running through my thoughts wearing nothing but a
Santa hat? And why do I stupidly agree that we should be Christmas friends with
benefits?Someone must have spiked my eggnog.
I don’t do Marines.
I learned my lesson about both the hard way.
But when Clint steps in to rescue me—from a murderous goose, a rogue reindeer,
and the ghost of Christmas Right Now causing trouble in my bakery—I can’t help
but wonder if we’re meant to be more than friends.
If maybe Clint is the holiday miracle I’ve been praying for…or if all the magic
will disappear with the season.
Humbugged is a laugh out loud holiday romp featuring a Marine with a
heart of gold and a baker in need of a hero. Complete with the world’s most
awkward Christmas caroling, a photoshoot with furry friends, and more naughty
baked goods than is good or decent.
