⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ REVIEW: Love Notes by Piper Lawson

I’ve always loved Piper Lawson’s writing, but.. WOW!!! What a prequel. This novella packs a serious punch in a short format. It’s filled with sexual tension, off the charts chemistry, and a couple with all kinds of potential. The perfect introduction to this love story, Love Notes showcases Lawson’s ability to mix light and angsty moments for maximum emotional impact. I am so absolutely intrigued about the rest of the series, and I. NEED. MORE.

Essentially, this novella serves as our introduction to Annie and Tyler, two former friends who seemed like they might be shifting into something more until Tyler stopped responding to Annie’s texts and calls. Eight months later, and Tyler is back in Annie’s life in a big way – staying with her family, working with her dad, and attending her prestigious high school. It’s not long before Annie starts seeing the changes to their relationship, as Tyler goes from new student from the wrong side of the tracks to prince of the popular crowd.

Told exclusively from Annie’s point of view, the reader is left in a constant state of tension, wondering exactly how Tyler feels and what’s been going on in his life. I would love to get his perspective on things (and I’m sure we will), but it adds a level of mystery and intrigue to the story that takes things up a notch. Considering this is the start of a trilogy, I can only guess that their relationship is going to be complicated, and this has a little of everything going for it – friends to lovers, high school drama, budding musicians – there’s so much good stuff to explore down the line. I can’t wait to get started on the series, because this little treat is some of the best work I’ve read in weeks.

When Tyler Adams knocked on my door, he was a broken prince with a wicked smile. A god with a guitar.

I don’t trust musicians, but he was different.

At seventeen, I offered him my home, my life, my heart…

…He stole them all.

From USA Today bestselling author Piper Lawson comes an emotional new adult forbidden romance series. LOVE NOTES is a 15,000-word prequel to the new Rivals trilogy.

The series truly begins on April 29th!

Tyler Adams and I never should have met.

I was rich, he was poor.

I was plain, he was beautiful.

I ached for the spotlight, he made his music in the dark.

Yet he looked at me in a way my rock star father and rich, snobby classmates never did: like I mattered.

I never saw it coming.

When Tyler moved in with us to work with my dad and attend Oakwood Prep, he seduced my enemies and claimed their crown.

He betrayed my friendship and crushed my heart to become their rebel prince.

They can keep him.

I’ll never forgive the boy I used to ache for.

But some nights…

…He makes me want to.

A Love Song for Liars is Book 1 in the angsty, emotional Rivals trilogy. Fans of forbidden, bully, academy and rock star romance will love this new series.
