The 10 June Releases I’m Most Excited About

There are SO MANY intriguing new releases coming in June! It was very difficult to narrow down my list to the ten that I am most excited about, but there are definitely some that I CANNOT WAIT to read!

I’ve got blurbs, release dates, and the reason why I’m so excited about each book below.

Check out the 50 June releases on my radar here – reviews for many of them coming throughout the month! There are several that were THIS CLOSE to making this list, so it’s shaping up to be an awesome month.

Carried Away by P. Dangelico

I can tell you right now: Dangelico writes an OUTSTANDING grumpy hero, and that’s what we’re getting with this upcoming release. She’ll play with your emotions, mixing light, chemistry-filled moments with BIG shots of angst. I’m loving the sounds of this blurb, but I didn’t need to read it before one-clicking this baby super, super fast.

Carrie Anderson––truth seeker, storyteller, journalist-at-large––is bad at social media and great at getting herself into trouble.

When she’s fired from her dream job for an ill-advised tweet, she has no other choice but to return to the small town where she grew up with her head hung low.

It’s temporary after all. She can work at her family’s bed and breakfast, shore up her finances, and get back to her life and her home in Los Angeles.

There’s only one not-so-little problem…the grouchy ex-NHL star making her rethink what home means.

Jake Turner––great at hockey, bad at people––is not a happy man.

Haunted by his past, all he wants is to disappear into obscurity, to get away from the scrutiny of the press he’s been under since turning pro at nineteen. But when the press finds him, disappearing is no longer an option.

Worse yet, the same journalist he’s trying to avoid is making him reconsider whether being forgotten is what he really wants.

Hard Pass by Sara Ney

Sara Ney excels at writing dialogue, texting, and banter, so this one sounds right up her alley. I also love it when couples meet in unexpected ways (bonus points if they start falling before they meet), so this seems like it’s going to have all that and more. It’s sure to be a light, sexy read, and I can’t wait to check it out!

“Hard pass.”

That’s what the last girl I slept with said when she got her first sober glimpse of me. She laughed, walked out of my penthouse—and I never saw her again. It doesn’t matter that I’m a rich, professional athlete; what mattered was my face.

Beauty might only be skin deep for some—but I know better.

“Pay up.”

That’s what the last girl I spoke to said over the phone when I made her an offer she couldn’t refuse. Desperate to sell a set of rare baseball cards, she’s clever and entertaining. I’m instantly smitten, but nowhere ready to reveal myself. Thank god she has no idea who I am—or what I look like.

I’m a professional athlete–how hard can playing the love game be?

Dear Sexy Ex-Boyfriend by Lauren Blakely

Lauren Blakely writes excellent banter, playfulness, and sexual tension, so this should be a very fun read. The premise sounds great and I love me a good fake relationship, so we’ll see how this all plays out!

Let me just say — none of this was supposed to happen.

I didn’t expect the letter to go viral. I didn’t think anyone would figure out who Dear Sexy Ex was. And I especially never thought he would find out about it.

Yeah, bit of a miscalculation there.

But see, I need the money to fund my brand new venture. And Dear Sexy Ex, well, it turns out he needs me to save his business.

By becoming his fake fiancée.

Yup, that’s the pickle I find myself in — pretending to be madly in love with the charming, brilliant, and utterly infuriating man known as Dear Sexy Ex.

Only, it’s not an act. And he can never know.

The Change Up by Meghan Quinn

Everything Meghan Quinn writes is an automatic one-click for me (especially her rom coms!), so this is no exception. This one is a friends to lovers story and I’m loving the sounds of the blurb, so I cannot wait to check it out. We were introduced to the hero earlier in the series, and though I’m sure this will easily read as a standalone, it means I have an idea of what the situation is with our couple. I’m betting it will make for a great read.

BREAKING NEWS: The Bad Boy of Baseball, Maddox Paige, is totally and utterly whipped.

Okay, that might not be the headlines in the newspaper this morning, but it’s the reality of my current situation.

It all started a month ago when I received a call from my best friend, Kinsley. She got a new job in Chicago and needed a place to stay. I’ve known the girl since I was five, what harm would it be to have her stay at my place for a while?

Ha! Total disaster.

Now instead of going out every night with my teammates, I’m couch surfing and sketching endless photos of my best friend . . . but that’s the least of my concerns.

The disaster, you ask? I’m rapidly falling head over cleats in love with my best friend, my roommate, and my number one fan.

And she has no idea . . .

Hard to Handle by K. Bromberg

A new series of sports romances from a very talented author? Yes, please. I’m definitely curious to see what the vibe of this new series is like, because everything I’ve read from Bromberg in the past has been excellent. Her Wicked Ways duet was one of my absolute favorite love stories of 2019, so that automatically shoots this new series to the top of the pack.

An all new series of standalone books by New York Times Bestselling author, K. Bromberg.

When four sisters set out to save their family business, each one sets their sights on a different client to help them succeed.

In Book 1, Hard to Handle, by-the-book, Dekker Kincade, sets out to win back the reining bad boy of hockey, Hunter Maddox. Getting him to sign with the agency is one thing but resisting the urge to slide between the sheets with him is a whole other, complicated matter.

Winning Hollywood’s Goodest Girl by Max Monroe

I love Max Monroe’s rom coms, and I also love a determined hero, so this sounds like it’s going to be a great read. This couple may be doing things out of order, but I’m betting there will be plenty of laughs, lust, and longing on their journey to happy ever after.

Raquel and Harrison sitting in a tree, K-I-S-S-I-N-G.

First comes love.

Then comes marriage.

Then comes a baby in the baby carriage.

That’s how her brother used to sing it when we were kids—a simple ploy to get under my skin and make me stick my fist in his face—but man oh man, did he get the order wrong.

One night of “kissing” in New York catapulted us straight to the pregnancy portion of the song—surprise!—and now I have to figure out how to carry out the whole melody in reverse.

A baby on the way first.

Then love and marriage?

It’s complicated on its best day.

But our situation is far more problematic than just a simple twist of nursery rhyme lyrics. Before our night together, Raquel Weaver was the best-known good girl in Hollywood—a twenty-nine-year-old innocent beauty whom the world adored and watched like a hawk.

Obviously, the consequences of that kind of reputation don’t just go away. Add in pregnancy hormones, the media, a fake fiancé, and a selfish manager, and you have the short list of my problems.

As a thirty-four-year-old, successful CFO of a multibillion-dollar media conglomerate, I thought I would be able to handle anything show business could throw my way, but I’m starting to think I might be in over my head.

Good thing I’m all in.

Winning Hollywood’s goodest girl is going to take everything I’ve got.

Taking His Shot by Kendall Ryan

This series has been some of Ryan’s best work, so I’m looking forward to seeing how it all concludes. Each book stands on its own but is better when paired together, and the premise sounds pretty awesome to me. It’s sure to be a steamy, light read with shots of emotion, so I can’t wait.

She says she doesn’t date players.

She swears up and down that she’ll never handle my stick.

We’ll see about that, sweetheart.

When I win the pleasure of Harper’s company at a charity auction, I get exactly one date—one shot to win over the gorgeous and feisty brunette.

Game on. I play hard, and I love a challenge.

But just when I think I’ve finally carved out my shot . . . a huge secret implodes around us, threatening everything we’ve built.

What to expect: A hunky, determined hockey player. A hard-to-win-over heroine. Exposed secrets, steamy good times, and a male-only romance book club. Yes!

Note: This is the final book in the Hot Jocks series, but each book is about a new couple and can be read as a complete standalone.

Fortuity by Jewel E. Ann

This will be my first read from Jewel E. Ann, but I’ve heard great things about her work and early reviews are EXCELLENT for this one. My ARC is sitting on my Kindle as we speak, so I cannot wait to give it a try.

A standalone romantic-comedy.

Forty-something Gracelyn Glock is living the dream.

No husband.

No retirement plan.

And since her self-imposed man-ban—no need to shave above her knees.

After a tragic accident, Gracelyn inherits her ten-year-old nephew. She signs a lease on a San Diego beach house and learns their neighbors for the summer are a sexy anatomy professor and his young daughter.

Professor Nathaniel Hunt has spent the last decade being a single dad … and not having sex.

So when he discovers Gracelyn has a peculiar outdoor stripping ritual, a million inappropriate thoughts fill his responsible mind.

When kisses are stolen, man-bans are broken, and summer comes to an end, will hearts stay in one piece and hope stay alive? Or will saying goodbye destroy everything?

Darkest Sin by J. Saman

I’ve enjoyed J. Saman’s books in the past, but her angsty rock star duet, Love to Hate Her & Hate to Love Him, moved her up several notches on my TBR. There was so much tension and emotion that it made the pages absolutely fly by, so I’m definitely looking forward to this one. While this is the third book in the series, it not required that you read them in order – and this one sounds like it’s going another complicated relationship!

Everyone has an ex who haunts them.

Mine shot me in the arm and told me to run or he’d kill everyone I ever loved. And then he’d kill me.

Years later, he’s made good on that promise. I’m the only one left.

He’s got his sights set on finding me, and my options on places to hide are quickly running out.

Until I meet a gorgeous assassin with an agenda of his own…putting not only my life, but my heart in danger.

With piercing green eyes and irresistible confidence, Gavin tells me not to be afraid. Promises he’s on my side. Swears he’s here to protect me instead of doing what he does best…kill.

The desire to trust him is tempting. The passion between us, even more so.

But when everything I thought I knew is suddenly flipped upside down, and all that’s dangerous and forbidden comes to light, I have to make a choice.

Continue to run and hide…

Or risk it all, including the man who somehow captured my heart.

Royal Games by T.K. Leigh

T.K. Leigh knows how to write ANGST that sneaks up on you, so I fully expect this to be an emotional read. I love the concept of a road trip romance, so that paired with an angsty, steamy story… sounds like a great time! I’ve read most of this series and I’m betting this will easily read as a standalone, but you’ve got time to get caught up now if you’re interested.

The first book in the series, Dating Games, is free right now, so grab your copy to check out Leigh’s excellent writing:

I was his biggest regret. He was my greatest adventure…

Every girl dreams of falling in love with a prince.

When I met Jeremy, I thought he was my prince.

Caring. Compassionate. Sensitive.

And, unfortunately for me, not attracted to women.

So here I am, thirty years old and divorced when most of my friends are just getting married. In desperate need of a restart, I set off on a road trip to learn how to love myself again.

The last thing I expected was to meet him.

Anderson North.

Mysterious. Enigmatic. Incredibly handsome.

And, after a malfunction with my rental car, my new road companion.

Can I give this man a piece of my heart after having it broken?

Can I learn to trust again after having that trust betrayed?

When he reveals his deepest secret, can I look beyond the lies and toward the only thing that matters?

I’ve always dreamed of finding my very own Prince Charming.

Maybe my prince is Anderson North.

Royal Games is a standalone angsty road trip romance with a royal twist. Grab your copy today, and strap in for the adventure of a lifetime.

When the Walls Come Down by M. Mabie & Aly Martinez

I’m throwing this one in as a bonus, because… I already read it! It was light and sexy with an adorably awkward hero who will steal your heart. There’s some great chemistry and a nice low angst feel that makes the pages fly by. It’s the first June release I read (and a 5-star read), so it’s shaping up to be a good month! Full review coming after it releases.

Did you ever hear the joke about the guy whose wife cheated on him with his best friend? So he quit his job, moved into his parents’ basement, and gained fifty pounds?

No? Because that wasn’t a joke. It was my life.

Four years later, I’m back with a dream job, a killer apartment, and a set of abs that are better than ever.

So, when Maggie Light, a stunning, snarky blonde moves in next door, and we spend the hottest weekend of our lives together, I think this could be the greatest comeback story ever.

That is until I realize Maggie has moved to town to do one thing—steal my job.

Maybe this isn’t a comeback story after all. Maybe this is war—one I intend to win.

What I never anticipated was that maybe I’d rather win her.

Perhaps, if I’m lucky, the universe has finally run out of jokes and I can somehow win both.
