⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ REVIEW: A Holiday Lift by Corinne Michaels

This was cute, with a few angsty moments and some sugary sweet ones to even things out. Easily read in an hour or less, this short story will get you in the holiday spirit and even warm up a cold evening. I remember reading Dean and Holly’s short (VERY short) story when it originally released, and this one has a second act that truly feels like their happily ever after.

The story follows Holly and Dean, co-workers who find themselves stuck in an elevator around the holidays. It’d be an awkward situation on a regular day, but is made even more so because they shared a steamy night together one week ago… and have avoided each other ever since. As they work out their differences, these two might just get their holiday spirit back after all.

If you haven’t read the original short story, that’s all included here. But there’s also a second half that follows up on Holly and Dean with all new content. It’s got Michaels’ solid writing and a quick, easy pace. More a holiday quickie (with a touch of steam) than an actual romance, the entire story is around 60 pages long. It will get you in the mood for Christmas and might brighten your day, but I didn’t find the actual love story to be all that satisfying. However, the package as a whole is a fun holiday read.

Blurb:

New York Times Bestseller Corinne Michaels brings a fun, sweet holiday short story.

All I want for Christmas… is to pretend the holidays do not exist.
That should be my tagline for life.
Another year with no one to kiss under the mistletoe.
Of course, it doesn’t help that after my last epic breakup, I hopped into the sack with the one man I should’ve avoided.
My arch-rival, Dean Pritchard.
Despite the fact that he didn’t bother calling after our night together, I can’t get him out of my head.
I am so on the naughty list.
But when a snowstorm traps us in an elevator, I can’t avoid my work crush any longer.
Will Dean be the lift I’ve needed for the holidays, or will Santa skip me yet again?
