I was flipping through my Kindle library this week, and realized just how many AWESOME ARCs I have on my hands at the moment. I’m almost exclusively an ARC reader at this point, because I am TERRIBLE about spoiling books for myself! If you’ve ever found yourself scrolling through waaaay too many reviews before deciding whether or not to read a book, you know what I’m talking about, lol. ARCs help keep me focused, so I usually have quite a few of them. I’m still a mood reader and I like to read a variety of different types of romance, but ARCs keep me from getting sidetracked.
The 25 books on this list are all upcoming releases that I’ll be reviewing. Think of this as a spring preview of sorts – there will definitely be other books added to my TBR soon (most indie authors don’t provide ARCs until it’s almost the release date), but these are the ones I’ve already got my hands on. I’ve included my thoughts on each book – some I’ve already read, some I picked for a reason, and others are a bit of a mystery to me. They’re all intriguing, and coming soon!
And, because I know you’re wondering, yes, I do have more than 25 ARCs at the moment, lol.
February 16th: Like You Love Me by Adriana Locke
I’ve already read and enjoyed this one! It’s a laidback, sweet, former friends to lovers romance. I loved the small town vibes and the easy feel – it’s definitely more of a sweet romance than Locke’s usual, but it’ll put a smile on your face.
February 16th: Hard to Score by K. Bromberg
I’m about a third of the way into this one at the moment, and it is GREAT so far. Not that I ever expected any less – the first two books in this series were both contenders for my Best of the Year list, and I’ve got a definite love for the author’s work. The hero in this one is a bit of a sweetheart, and I’m loving the history between these two.
February 18th: Close Quarters by Kandi Steiner
I’ve already read and loved this one! The blurb had me really nervous because it gives off definite twisty/cheating vibes, and this relationship IS pretty complicated. But I was hooked from start to finish, and it turned out to be a very engaging read.
February 19th: Ruthless Creatures by J.T. Geissinger
I never know what to expect from J.T. Geissinger, but I always know that I’m in for a crazy intense ride. She’s already giving warnings about how hot and wild this one is, so I am both excited and a little nervous, because her books are typically pretty steamy to begin with, lol. I’m waiting for the perfect day to read this one (I’m 100% a mood reader), but I’ll have a review coming soon!
February 22nd: Call Me Crazy by Melanie Harlow
The first two books in this series of standalones were steamy delights, so I am definitely looking forward to this! And the blurb sounds like the kind of story that’ll get me hooked – a marriage of convenience between two feuding frenemies. Sounds intense and sexy to me!
February 23rd: Make It Sweet by Kristen Callihan
I’ve already read and LOVED this one! This gruff, sweet hero stole my heart, and I loved the slow burn. It was emotional and sexy without being too heavy. There’s some great chemistry and many intimate moments.
February 23rd: Bet the Farm by Staci Hart
This sounds like just my kind of lighthearted enemies to lovers romance and the cover is all kinds of adorable, so I can’t wait to get reading! It landed on my Kindle today and I’m looking forward to digging in this weekend.
February 23rd: Return to Us by Corinne Michaels
Okay, I’ll openly admit that I’m not a big second chance romance fan, BUT I do like Corinne Michaels’ writing and this is the start of a brand new series, so I’m excited to check it out. Plus… have you seen that cover?
February 23rd: Love at First by Kate Clayborn
I’ve already read and enjoyed this one! Was it as good as Love Lettering? No. This took a lot longer to reel me in, but I really liked it by the end. It’s a slow burn with a serious, heartfelt tone, and I loved some of the topics that were covered.
March 4th: Love to Tempt You by J. Saman
This book is the newest in one of my favorite series, and I’m so excited to dig in! Saman had three books – all from this series – that were in contention for my Top 20 of 2020, and I just know that this is going to be an immersive read. We don’t know much about these characters yet, but I know enough to be very impatient to get reading!
March 9th: The Devil Wears Black by L.J. Shen
So. There’s been a lot of talk about L.J. Shen recently, none of it good, and I just want to acknowledge that I do have an ARC of her upcoming release – which I’ve had sitting unread on my Kindle for MONTHS, lol. If you’ve been following the blog for awhile, you know that I’m not actually a fan of her recent work (none of her 2020 releases received higher than 3 stars from me), but this is her first release with a traditional publisher, so I snapped up an ARC when I saw it (hoping the publisher would rein her in a bit). This was months before the bullying scandal came out (you can look at the reviews for The Villain on GoodReads for details), and I would NOT have grabbed an ARC if I knew then what I know now. However, I’ve got it and I’ll read it, so just know that a review will be coming. I’ve glanced through it a little, and this antihero seems like less of a turdnugget than some of her recent ones, though past (assumed) cheating is the major conflict in this second chance romance, so… things are complicated.
April 6th: Twice Shy by Sarah Hogle
I LOVED this author’s debut, You Deserve Each Other, so I was ecstatic when I received an ARC for her followup! It’s the kind of book that makes me want to clear my schedule and get reading, but I’ve got to make it through all of the awesome February releases first, lol! I can’t wait to dive in.
April 6th: Forever in Cape May by Jennifer Probst
This sweet and sexy series has been very solid overall, but I do admit to having a few hesitations about this one. Any time lifelong friends think they can have a “no strings” fling, I roll my eyes and give a little bit of a lip curl. However, Probst is a talented writer, and I’m looking forward to seeing how she makes this friends to lovers romance work.
April 6th: Life’s Too Short by Abby Jimenez
Jimenez seems to have the unique ability of getting me totally and completely hooked on a light and sexy love story… only to rip my heart out later on. I must be a glutton for punishment, because I’m back for her third book and I couldn’t be more excited to read it. I’m really, really hoping that this one doesn’t gut me, but we shall see.
April 13th: Hot Copy by Ruby Barrett
I love me a good office romance with a side of enemies to lovers, so this debut caught my attention. And the heroine is the boss this time! Even better. I don’t know what to expect from the writing, but I know I’m already loving the vibe.
April 27th: The Seat Filler by Sariah Wilson
I always look forward to this author’s clean yet sexy romances, and The Seat Filler has a blurb that has piqued my interest even more. I’m sure it’s going to be a light, low angst, and probably adorable read – and that sounds pretty good to me!
April 27th: Anchored Hearts by Priscilla Oliveras
I was introduced to this author’s work with Island Affair, and it was the perfect kind of laidback, summertime read. The followup seems just as sweet and easy, so I am definitely looking forward to getting reading!
May 4th: Maybe We Will by Melissa Foster
I love that cover! This is the start of a brand new series from Melissa Foster, and I’m loving the blurb. Strangers to lovers is a favorite of mine, and the added element of mystery has got me curious. This is sure to be a sexy, heartfelt read, and I’m looking forward to seeing what the vibe of the series is like.
May 4th: Just Last Night by Mhairi McFarlane
I snuck a little peek at this one the other day, and I am excited about the storyline. I’m still getting to know this author’s writing, but the complicated romance in this one has me all sorts of intrigued.
May 4th: The Insiders by Tijan
This is something a little different from Tijan, and I am really curious to see what the vibe is like! It’s book one in what seems to be a romantic suspense trilogy, and I’ve honestly got no idea what to expect. And that’s all part of the fun!
May 18th: Happy Endings by Thien-Kim Lam
This one is a debut, so I have no idea what to expect from the book, but the combination of that cute cover and the words “vibrator pop-up shop” in the blurb have got me curious, to say the least! We shall see what it’s all about, but I’ve gotta admit that I’m interested in finding out.
June 22nd: Love Scenes by Bridget Morrissey
This Hollywood romance sounds so, so good! The author makes her adult debut with this one, and I’m loving the blurb. Co-stars who start to feel more than friendly feelings towards each other while acting… yes, please!
June 29th: To Sir, With Love by Lauren Layne
I was pumped when this landed on my Kindle! I’ve loved almost all of Lauren Layne’s books and this blurb sounds like it was made for me. A spin on You’ve Got Mail with a dating app? But they hate each other in real life? Love it! I can’t wait.
July 6th: Too Good to be Real by Melonie Johnson
Combine that adorable cover with a plot that has our couple going on a getaway that involves the “rom-com experience,” and I’m sold! I read all three books in this author’s Sometimes in Love series, so I know she can write a solid vacation romance, and I love a good meet cute. We’ll see how this plays out!
July 13th: It Happened One Summer by Tessa Bailey
I haven’t read enough Tessa Bailey lately, but I really enjoyed The Sweetest Fix in January, so I am ready to dive back in! This one sounds right up my alley, and I’m looking forward to the right reading mood to strike me – probably when I need to escape winter for a few hours!
