⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ REVIEW: Crave Thy Neighbor by Teagan Hunter

CRAVE is right! These two had no problems in the chemistry department; they had some great sexual tension, and there’s plenty of steam. I love a good guy hero with a touch of bad, and that’s what we’ve got here. It’s a light, sexy book with just enough yearning to say that it has a bit of angst. The story reads quickly, and it’s easy to devour in one sitting. I’m personally not a fan of characters who think they can “just” have sex when there are clearly already feelings involved, but I knew that was the dynamic going in. I’m a huge fan of this author’s work, and this series’ group of friends keeps me coming back for more. It was a solid 4-star read for me, with a rocky ending being the main reason I wouldn’t consider that fifth star.

The story follows Maya, a single mom in need of a new apartment. The building she lives in has been sold, and now there’s an overwhelming number of people in the market for apartments. When her best friend’s boyfriend’s best friend (did you follow that?) offers up his home temporarily, Maya is left with little choice but to agree. The last thing she wants is a new roommate, let alone a near-stranger… especially one who almost took her home for a one night stand before they discovered their connection. And it could only ever be sex between them anyways: Nolan doesn’t do commitments, and Maya has a son. So this whole roommate situation is doomed from the start.

I liked this quite a bit, and I probably would’ve loved it if Maya and Nolan hadn’t been fooling themselves the whole time – but that’s just me, lol. I really liked both characters, and there is no denying their chemistry. There’s also a sweet side to Nolan that worked, which was a great contrast to his intensity in private. It’s low angst and pretty steamy, with an easy feel that made it fly by. I do wish that there was more discussion of feelings between Maya and Nolan; there were a lot of assumptions made towards the end that weren’t entirely justifiable given the lack of communication. Also, I really didn’t like the way Maya’s son was brought into the big fight; that was a step too far for me. But I enjoyed this a whole lot, and I’m looking forward to more from the series. I received an early copy and am voluntarily leaving a review of this sexy romance.

Blurb:

Don’t fall for your roommate… especially when it’s only temporary.

Nolan Brooks is off limits.
Sure, he’s insanely attractive and funny and I mighthave almost gone home with him one night to relieve a little stress.
Big deal.

It was all just a momentary lapse in judgment…just like the kiss we shared.

He’s my temporary roommate while I wait for my new apartment to be ready. That’s it.
He’s doesn’t do relationships, and he doesn’t do attachments.

So what if I have a crush on him? We’ll only be there for two months.
Surely I can survive that long.

Each of these reads as a standalone, though there are characters who tie the series together. I’d personally recommend reading Loathe Thy Neighbor first, not just because it kicks the series off, but also because I vastly preferred it to Love Thy Neighbor. Everybody has their own preferences when it comes to tropes, and I really love enemies to lovers, while friends to lovers can sometimes be problematic. They’re both solid reads, and we should be getting at least one more book from this series!

About the Author:

I’m a Missouri-raised gal, but currently live in North Carolina with my US Marine husband and 9-year-old dog. I spend my days begging him for a cat, and I survive off coffee, pizza, and sarcasm. When I’m not writing, you can find me binge-watching various TV shows, especially Supernatural and One Tree Hill. I like cold weather, buy more paperbacks than I’ll ever read, and I never say no to brownies.

Writing is my passion, and this is just the beginning of my journey.
