It was a busy week at work, so I didn’t keep up with the cover reveals well – but there were some VERY exciting one! Two are long-awaited installments in series that I love, while the other two are intriguing releases from authors whose work I enjoy. Details on all four below!
I’ve been waiting for this book for YEARS! Kristen Callihan is a favorite author of mine and this series has been excellent, so I’m looking forward to this… even if the storyline is slightly problematic for me, lol. You’ve probably seen Managed on my recommendation lists by now, because it’s an all-time favorite romance of mine. That’s book two in this rock star series, and we’ve seen peeks at this couple in each book. This couple’s history might prove to be a little troublesome for me, but I’m confident that the writing is going to be great. Hopefully the dynamic will work for me! While this probably will read as a standalone, this series is better together. Idol or Managed probably work the best as standalone reads, and they’ll give you a taste of the vibe.
July 13: Exposed by Kristen Callihan
There are some people in life who know exactly how to push your buttons. For me, it’s Rye Peterson. We can’t spend more than ten minutes together before we’re at each other’s throats, which makes working together that much harder. Rye is the bassist for Kill John, the biggest rock band in the world, and I am his publicist. It doesn’t help that the man is gorgeous, funny, talented, and…never takes anything seriously. Avoidance is key.
But everything changes when he overhears something he shouldn’t: a confession made in a moment of weakness. Now the man I’ve tried so hard to ignore is offering me the greatest temptation of all—him.
Brenna James is the one. The one I can’t have. The one I can’t get out of my mind. Believe me, I’ve tried; the woman loathes me. I managed well enough—until I heard her say she’s as lonely as I am. That she needed to be touched, held, satisfied. And I could no longer deny the truth: I wanted to be the one to give her what she craved.
I convinced her that it would just be sex, mutual satisfaction with nothing deeper. But the moment I have her, she becomes my world. I’ve never given her a good reason to trust me before. Now, I’ve got to show Brenna that we’re so much better together than we ever were apart.
Things are going to get messy. But getting messy with Brenna is what I do best.
I’m growing to love Steiner’s work, though her twisty, complex, super angsty romances won’t be to everyone’s taste. This blurb has me very, very intrigued, and I’m curious to see how it will all play out. This is a standalone, and I’m loving the strangers to lovers connection, the mysterious vibe – I can’t wait to dive in!
June 24: Say Yes by Kandi Steiner
One unforgettable summer…
When you’re an artist, everything has to be perfect.
Or so I thought, until my professor told me my perfection was boring and unoriginal. Studying abroad in Florence has taught me one thing: I know nothing when it comes to what makes art truly beautiful.
So, with my professor’s words in my ear, I step outside one evening and decide to say yes to any and everything I’m faced with until the sun rises.
Of course, I didn’t expect him to show up.
Liam Benson, the broody, sexy, tortured artist from my class who I can’t stand. He’s got a sour outlook on the world and an ego so big no one could properly stroke it to his satisfaction.
When he finds out what I’m doing, he hijacks my “yes” night.
And after just twelve hours with him, I’m desperate for more.
But Liam is running from more than I could ever understand, and with his heart guarded and mind made up about life, I don’t stand a chance.
I convince myself that we can keep it casual.
But walking away from him at the end of the summer is as impossible as painting outside the lines.
I used to think when you’re an artist, everything has to be perfect.
Turns out everything has to be painful, and messy, and fleeting.
If only I’d known that before I fell under Liam Benson’s spell.
Ney is one of my favorite authors for light, easy, and FUN reads – and the Jock Hard series was my introduction to her work! It’s been a minute since she released a new one, and I’m so ready for more. This one’s got a royal storyline and a blurb that’s vague enough to have me curious, so I’m very much looking forward to this.
June 24: Jock Royal by Sara Ney
IT’S EASY TO TAKE ONE DARE WHEN YOU THINK IT’S HARMLESS.
Ashley Dryden-Jones is the best rugby player on the field—when I take a dare I instantly regret, I had no way of knowing he was a gentleman. An athlete. British with no plans to stay in the States.
He makes me forget myself, bruises, 5 o’clock shadow, accent and all.
He makes me forget I cannot crawl into bed with him at night—or get drunk and throw caution to the wind for once in my overly cautious life.
Because he’s my new roommate.
ONE STUPID BET LEADS TO ONE UNFORGETTABLE NIGHT.
When I win a trip to Vegas I need a plus one; he’s the strapping, strong and responsible choice. Besides—I’ve never been anywhere and he has.
He is the best friend I didn’t know I needed.
Ashley is one of the good ones—but I’m about to find out how bad this good boy can be.
Another royal romance! They must be on trend right now, because this is another long-running series that’s getting a royal infusion. Bennett’s quick, suspenseful series of interconnected standalones has always been pretty solid, so I’m looking forward to this. We got a very minor peek at the relationship that’ll be featured in this during the last book, so I’m ready to get reading.
September 7: Code Name: Tiara by Sawyer Bennett
I joined Jameson Force Security for three reasons: the missions, the danger, and the money. I definitely didn’t join the team to be an overpriced babysitter for a spoiled princess. Ask anyone who knows me, and they’ll tell you Jackson Gale is an adventurer through and through. Yet here I am, halfway across the world, watching over Princess Camille of the House Winterbourne. Even her name sounds stuck up.
After arriving in Bretaria, I realize that Princess Camille is nothing that I expected. Beautiful, smart, and sophisticated, Camille is the very picture of elegance and grace. But under her perfect façade, she is funny, adventurous, sexy as hell, and impossible to resist. And that is a dangerous combination.
The closer Camille and I become, the more obvious it is that while she and I are compatible in many ways, our destinies are not. She has a duty to the monarchy, and I’m just an average American who’s fallen for a princess. Everyone says we can’t be together, but how does one walk away from the other half of their heart?
