⭐️⭐️⭐️ REVIEW: Crazy in Love by S.L. Scott

If we’re being honest here… I’d have difficulty articulating any one thing that I liked about this, other than the sweet hero. I’m a fan of the writing style, but the storyline failed to pull me in – from start to finish. We never see the meet cute or any of this couple’s chemistry from their initial night together, and I think that started this story off on the wrong foot. The miscommunication and resentment that follow didn’t help either, nor did some of the developments along the way. So, while I don’t think this is necessarily a “bad” story, I can’t really call it a “good” one either. Some readers are likely to enjoy this more than others, but it was a miss for me.

The story follows Tatum and Harrison, two strangers who had a one night stand four years ago. They shared one steamy night together that caused this playboy to become smitten, and it was supposed to end there. But these two are part of the same group of friends, so they’ve seen each other a few times in the years that have followed. Once Tatum and Harrison decide to finally get things out in the open and more forward, they realize that there might be some lingering attraction. As the two reconnect on a different level than before, they have to move past the emotional roadblocks that kept them apart the first time around.

I would like to mention that there’s something about the writing style that’s kept me coming back for more, even when the storylines haven’t always completely worked for me. And I really did like Harrison; he’s willing to admit that there’s something special about Tatum, and he’s open to pursuing more. I just wish he didn’t wait four years to do so, lol. I hated Tatum – she gets in her own way a LOT, and overreacts frequently. The messy history and miscommunication also drove me crazy, as did the absence of some of the classic “romantic” moments. We don’t get the meet cute, they jump right into sex, and then other roadblocks get in the way later on. I needed a reason to root for the relationship, and there just weren’t many. Simple as that. I received an early copy and am voluntarily leaving a review of this one night stand turned more romance.

One night will never be enough.

We made a pact. One night.

No strings.
No attachments.
No numbers exchanged.

I caved and gave Harrison Decker my number anyway. He just chose not to use it.

Four years later, his job brings him back into my world looking more handsome than ever and now making an effort to befriend me. Is my heart willing to take another chance on that man?

Call me crazy or crazy in love. Either way, I’m not falling for him. Again.

Author’s Note:
