WEEKLY WRAP-UP: August 19th

Four solid romances round out my reading week, so I can’t complain! I went nearly two full weeks between 5-star reads, so I’ve been feeling discontented with my summer reading. But looking back on this week, it was a pretty good one. I read Sin Bin, one of the sexier installments to Teagan Hunter’s light and sexy sports romance series. The forbidden, age gap situation worked for me, though it was a bit forgettable. I also posted my review for the second book in JB Salsbury’s North Brothers series, which I had read in anticipation of the newest book (my last 5-star read). It was so unique and engaging. I also read the newest installment in Angela Denise’s matchmaking-focused series, which would’ve been a stronger read if the hero’s past sexual experiences hadn’t been mentioned so frequently. The week was looking like a “just okay” one until I tried out a new-to-me author, Nina Levine, whose forbidden, fling to more/office romance was spicy, lighthearted fun – finally giving me a 5-star read this week!

If you read my Teaser Thursday post (found here), you know that there are some exciting books on the way soon! I’ll have reviews going up throughout the week.

If you missed any of this week’s reviews, I’ve got the blurb and rating for each below. There’s also a link to my new release list.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Spicy and easy

A steamy forbidden office romance from USA Today & Wall Street Journal bestselling author Nina Levine.

My one-night stand is my new boss.

I met him at the society wedding of the year.
The man every woman in New York wants.

He’s rich.
Devastatingly good looking.
Charming.
Mr. I-Could-Blow-Your-Mind.

And yes, he did blow my mind.

It was just supposed to be one night.
I told him I don’t date.
But now he wants to make me his.

How will I resist all those suits and the muscles they hide?
How will I survive the unexpected dinner parties and work trips?
How will I ignore the scorching chemistry between us?

I can’t give my heart away again.

Spoiler alert: I’m failing epically.

Owen North is a standalone billionaire boss romance featuring a swoonworthy, protective alpha hero; a quirky heroine who can’t control a thing she says; forced proximity; forbidden office steamy moments; a hero who will stop at nothing to get his woman; so much fun banter; a heroine who loves being her hero’s good girl; and a HEA you will swoon over.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Sexy fun

I should stay away.

Emilia Anderson is the team’s social media manager, and there are strict rules about not fraternizing with the staff. It doesn’t matter that we already accidentally broke them—we can’t let it happen again.

Besides, my time in the NHL is winding down, and this is my last shot at winning the Cup. I need to focus on the game, not some girl I have no business chasing.

She’s ten years younger than me.
She’s the assistant coach’s niece.
And she works for the team.

She’s off-limits…and too hard to resist.

I know better than to play this game…

But it looks like I’m heading to the sin bin.

SIN BIN is a standalone age gap/forbidden hockey romcom with lots of steam, wit, and fun!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Unique and sexy

In a city where image is everything, Gabriella turns heads for all the wrong reasons.

The marks that slash across her neck and face turn people away. But I see the beauty that lies beneath, feel a kinship to her pain.

I regret the way she found me—mugged and left for dead. I should walk away, follow the rules, but I can’t. I want to see her again. There’s only one problem.

My brother convinced her I’m gay.

I use that lie to my advantage, persuade her to be my pretend girlfriend, to help protect my fake-sexual identity from my judgmental family. But what starts as a shameless excuse to be near her leads to crossed lines and midnight confessions.

I’m not who I led her to believe. I’m sin wrapped in silk. Betrayal masked by beauty.

And she’s not the only one with scars…

⭐️⭐️⭐️ Mixed feelings

They’re all wrong for each other…but sometimes two wrongs do make a right.

Cole
The only woman I need in my life is my eight-year-old daughter, Jane. As a widowed brewery owner, I don’t have the time or inclination for anything more serious than a one night stand. Running the brewery is a big job, and being a parent is a bigger one, especially since my in-laws keep trying to prove I’m an unfit guardian.

But there’s no denying Holly Mayberry drives me crazy with her sassy mouth and attitude. I’ve known her most of my life, but I’ve always done a good job of evading her. Until now. She’s teaching Jane’s after-school computer program, and fate keeps throwing us together.

Holly and I are like oil and water, no good for each other. I need to stop thinking about her, so I agree to beta test a new dating app—one that Holly designed, although she’s the last person I’d tell.

My match and I can only DM each other for thirty days. No photos. No real names. No personal information until the end.

If I wanted more with a woman, Cherry Bomb checks all the boxes…so why can’t I stop thinking about Holly?

Holly
Cole Garrison is a jerk. Or so I’ve told myself for years. The truth is, he’s a DILF and a half, and bickering with him is better than kissing someone else.

Hopefully, the guy I’m chatting up on my dating app will help me forget him…and take his place in my dirty daydreams.
