I spent most of the week immersed in Untying the Knot, and I have no regrets – it was fantastic! Meghan Quinn always swings for the fences, so my experiences with her work can be inconsistent, but the good ones are REALLY good. This marriage in trouble romance gripped me the whole way through, and the audio (duet narration!) took everything up another notch.
I’ve been abandoning books midway through all Fall, so I decided to do a special mini review week to talk about some of the books I can’t seem to finish (no, this isn’t all of them, lol). There’s another Quinn romance in the mix, Runaway Groomsman, which has a VERY different vibe than her newest release. It was slow going and the heroine still had a boyfriend other than the hero 200 pages in, so I set the book aside – despite the fact that I enjoyed a lot of it. Reluctantly Yours was a decidedly 4-star book that I abandoned (and forgot about) when something more exciting released, but I’m definitely looking forward to reading more from the author. And Sextuplet and the City was just too ridiculous for me – there’s a fine line between hysterical and cringey. I think talking about DNFs can be very valuable, and none of these were necessarily “negative” reviews.
