Teaser Thursday

Today is actually a pretty solid release day on its own, but there are also a few intriguing books on the way next week. There aren’t really any big traditional releases on Tuesday (because of the primaries, maybe), but there are a couple on Thursday. Sounds like a good week to try out some new-to-you authors or catch up on your TBR! Take a peek at some of the books releasing in the next week below.

March 7: Jump on Three by J. Wolf

-Rules are my favorite.

-Order relaxes me.

-Tattooed boys with shaggy hair and soulful eyes are strictly off-limits.

I’ve recently come to the conclusion I’m bad at boyfriends. But as terrible as I am at choosing them, even I would never consider my sister’s former crush—tall, growly, enigmatic Ivan Sokolov. That’s a line I won’t cross, even if Delilah is way over him.

Ivan is just my swim teammate.

The guy who walks me to class and shares his playlists.

And he’s the person who keeps stealing my study room. Sure, there are others, but room three is mine. Which I let him know, in no uncertain terms.

The thing is, Ivan thinks my bluntness is adorable. He’s not scared off by my dozens of questions or need to move. My quirks are cute to him.

And I…well, I can’t stop looking at him, even though I shouldn’t. I also can’t resist following him—just a little—to find out his secrets.

I know better. Bullies and a lifethat hasn’t always been kind have toughened me up. I’m a realist and this is black and white.

Except when Ivan’s lips touch mine and my orderly world is turned upside down, I suddenly start to see how beautiful gray can be.

March 7: If You Hate Me by Helena Hunting

A brand new standalone hate-to-love, brother’s best friend hockey romance.

My new roommates are two pro hockey players.
First, my f-boy of an older brother, and second, his seriously hot best friend (who I seriously hate).
This was a last resort.
No one should be sleeping on a futon that smells like Cheetos and man sweat.
But here I am, trying to get my life together.

Tristan Stiles is the bane of my existence.
He never wears a shirt.
We can’t seem to stop fighting.
He’s an arrogant playboy with a filthy reputation.
Sure, I had a crush on him when I was fourteen but that was a long time ago.
I know better than to trust him.

I just need to survive long enough to find a new job and get a new place.
And not accidentally let Tristan show me exactly how well deserved his reputation is.

March 7: Blitz by Devney Perry

A forbidden, small town, sports romance from Wall Street Journal and USA Today bestselling author Devney Perry.

A coach. A student. The rules were concrete. We broke them anyway.

The night I met Toren Greely was the night I learned how to lie. He was a Treasure State football coach. I was the star of the volleyball team. Coaches and students were forbidden. My future was on the line, so I told myself it was only one night.

That was the first lie. They got easier to tell after that. The lines blurred. The boundaries shifted. Our relationship became a game of its own.

A chaste smile. A knowing glance. A veiled touch or a hushed kiss. We hid in plain sight. We were invincible. Or so we thought. Neither of us saw the blitz coming until it was too late.

Game over. The night I left Toren Greely was the night I learned how to lose.

March 7: Perfect Boy by Hannah Gray

An entire campus knows my name. Women throw themselves at me, hoping I’ll take them home that night. Whispers from the NHL say I’m the one to watch. And the weight of each game is on my shoulders because if our opposing team scores … that’s on me. All the things that keep me up at night are probably someone else’s dreams.

From the moment I saw Ryann Denver in my Business 101 class, I was intrigued and determined to get to know her. But unlike most girls at Brooks, she hates athletes. And when I introduce myself to her, she makes it perfectly clear that she’s not interested. So, I walk away forever with my tail tucked firmly between my legs.

But as fate would have it, we’re paired up together in a charity dance event. And now, whether she likes it or not, she has to spend time with me. A lot of time. I guess I’m in luck because it turns out she can use me in her corner right now. And when she finds herself in trouble and I’m the only one she can run to, she figures out maybe I’m not that bad after all.

Ryann is going to see I’m not like the players she’s dated in the past.

Especially now that I’m her husband.

March 12: Happily Never After by Lynn Painter

Their name? The objectors.
Their job? To break off weddings as hired.
Their dilemma? They might just be in love with each other.

When Sophie Steinbeck finds out just before her nuptials that her fiancé has cheated yet again, she desperately wants to call it off. But because her future father-in-law is her dad’s cutthroat boss, she doesn’t want to be the one to do it. Her savior comes in the form of a professional objector, whose purpose is to show up at weddings and proclaim the words no couple (usually) wants to hear at their ceremony: “I object!”

During anti-wedding festivities that night, Sophie learns more about Max the Objector’s job. It makes perfect sense to her: he saves people from wasting their lives, from hurting each other. He’s a modern-day hero. And Sophie wants in.

The two love cynics start working together, going from wedding to wedding, and Sophie’s having more fun than she’s had in ages. She looks forward to every nerve-racking ceremony saving the lovesick souls of the betrothed masses. As Sophie and Max spend more time together, however, they realize that their physical chemistry is off the charts, leading them to dabble in a little hookup session or two—but it’s totally fine, because they definitely do not have feelings for each other. Love doesn’t exist, after all.

And then everything changes. A groom-to-be hires Sophie to object, but his fiancée is the woman who broke Max’s heart. As Max wrestles with whether he can be a party to his ex’s getting hurt, Sophie grapples with the sudden realization that she may have fallen hard for her partner in crime.

March 14: A Little Naughty by Tia Louise

You see, it all started with a series of bad decisions.
First was flirting with a dangerous criminal to rescue a little girl I didn’t even know.
Second was throwing a massive, masked gala in my small-town hideout (complete with drag queens) and not expecting to draw attention…
The Third rode in on a motorcycle and melted my undies (and my heart).

Raif Jones is a bad boy from the wrong side of town.
He’s the one in the faded jeans and the white T-shirt, with the tattooed muscles, naughty blue eyes, and a killer, James-Dean smile.
I asked him to marry me… to help me out of my jam, of course.
Imagine my surprise when he said yes.

We’re a little naughty and a lot hot, and the perks of being married are very… perky.
They’re perky in the shower, on the kitchen table, against the front door…

But when Bad Decision #1 tracks me down (thanks to Bad Decision #2), my outlaw husband turns Alpha Protector and risks everything to keep us safe.
It’s just a marriage of convenience. It’s supposed to have an end date.
But saying goodbye to Raif Jones could be the worst decision I’ve ever made.

(A LITTLE NAUGHTY is a small-town, marriage of convenience romance with single-mom vibes, a protective hero, no third-act breakup, and light suspense. No cheating. No cliffhanger.)

March 14: Oar Than Friends by Lulu Moore

She’s rowing for Cambridge. He’s rowing for Oxford. A boat race to go down in history.

Arthur Osbourne-Cloud has always had his future mapped out for him – graduate Oxford and follow his dreadful father into politics. Except Arthur wants to do anything but that. He’s more than happy filling his days rowing for golds at the Olympics or World Championships, and this year he has The Boat Race to win.

Kate Astley also has her future mapped out – the next six years at least. Fly half-way across the world, and win a scholarship at Cambridge University to study medicine. Oh, and become a crew member for the legendary Boat Race. Seems simple enough. But then she meets Arthur.

For Arthur, this feisty American challenges everything he’s been taught to believe, while Kate battles between what she wants to do, and what she’s expected to do. The bitter rivalry between their schools is destined to destroy them, but it’s only a matter of time before they give in to the sizzling chemistry bubbling between them.

Then the reality of their future comes knocking. In The Boat Race, there can only be one winner. Who will sink and who will swim?
