⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ AUDIOBOOK REVIEW: The Christmas Pact by Vi Keeland & Penelope Ward 🎧

So cute! I always love Vi Keeland and Penelope Ward’s books so I tried this without hesitation. It’s got the same solid writing that their full length books do, all in a condensed package. Lighter and sweeter than their typical work – to go along with the holiday feel of the story – this has a nice enemies to lovers/fake relationship feel that flies by. I loved the chemistry between these two and would’ve liked a full length story even more, since this hits all the right notes but felt a little rushed. There are some really great scenes, but their happy ending wasn’t as satisfying as it would’ve been with some more depth. For those of you looking for a quick holiday romance, this has a nice Hallmark vibe that doesn’t feature anything overly explicit.

The story follows Riley and Kennedy, two people who work for the same company but have never met. Their emails get mixed up a lot because Riley’s last name is Kennedy and Kennedy’s is Riley. That leads to them knowing more about each other’s lives than they probably should, and when Riley’s email to an advice columnist gets mistakenly sent to Kennedy, their lives intersect in a big way. Turns out their homeotwns aren’t that far from each other, so they accompany each other home to lend support – Riley to stop feeling so inadequate and Kennedy to have a date to a wedding. As they spend time together, feelings get involved and the attraction sizzles.

It’s short, sweet, sexy, and flies by.

🎧 Audio note: I listened to the audio version of this when it was released last year (it’s a new release in Kindle only). The narration was very well done and the story is light, adorable, and easy to listen to. It’s a quick story that’s perfect for listening to around the house – I think I was literally wrapping Christmas presents when I listened to it. The audio might actually be the reason I bumped this one up to 4 stars. It’s a quick listen and the relationship is not fully developed, but it really hits the spot for a cute holiday romance.

Blurb:

From New York Times Bestselling authors Vi Keeland and Penelope Ward comes a standalone holiday novella.

Eggnog. Check. Roaring fire. Check. Hot romance book. Check!

Riley Kennedy’s emails keep getting crossed with her male colleague, Kennedy Riley. The infuriating man forwards them along with his annoying commentary and unsolicited advice. At least she never has to see him in person, since they work in different locations…until they come face to face at the office holiday party.

As luck would have it, Kennedy turns out to be outrageously handsome…though still a jerk. Yet somehow he’s able to charm her out on the dance floor—and convince her to participate in his crazy scheme: he’ll go home with Riley for a Christmas party and pretend to be her boyfriend, if Riley agrees to be his date to a wedding. It sounds easy enough. Little by little, however, the act they’re putting on starts to feel like so much more than a Christmas pact—and Riley’s about to learn there’s more to Kennedy than she ever imagined.
